Fallback Clone
Level: 10
Wearable: Two headbands
Effect: To activate this device, the user must place a few drops of blood, strands of hair, nail clippings, or a piece of flesh in a sealed, water-filled tank with one of the headbands and wear the other one. The headband in the tank facilitates the rapid growth of a clone in
one month. The clone is a fully grown creature, identical in every physical way to the user. However, it has no consciousness and remains in a comatose state in the tank. Once the clone has matured, if at any time
the user dies while wearing the headband, her consciousness is transferred into the clone,
regardless of distance. All skills, abilities, and knowledge are transferred.
The user does not need to wear the
headband throughout the process (if, for
example, she is worried about her cypher limit)—just at the beginning to spur the clone’s growth. However, if she dies while not wearing the headband, no transfer occurs.

Artifacts & Oddities

Plate of Glass that, when you view the night sky through it, reveals ten times as many stars. (Oddity)

Fear Maker: It takes two rounds to assemble and set up this device. Once set up, it takes an action to activate.
When activated, it affects the minds of all thinking creatures within long range in a 45 degree arc. Those
affected are instilled with terror, making them drop what they are holding and do one of the following:
Roll Action
01-50 Flee for 1d6 rounds
51-90 Cower (losing their actions) for 1d6 rounds
91-00 Faint, remaining unconscious for one minute (or until roused by vigorous action) (Artifact)

Feathered hat that occasionally makes bird noises. (Oddity)

Clothing: A fabric of dark colouring hangs loosely from her shoulders, held to her waist by a tightly fashioned corset. This blouse is accompanied by a dark shroud and cloak.

-Lyre: A stringed instrument like a small U-shaped harp with strings fixed to a crossbar. It is made from quality synth.

-Pack of Light Tools: Contains small tongs, pliers, screwdriver, small hammer, small pry bar, lockpicks, 10 feet (3 m) of string, 3 feet (1 m) of wire, and miscellaneous screws and nails.

-Explorer’s Pack: Contains 50 feet (15 m) of rope, rations for 13 days, three spikes, hammer, warm clothes, sturdy boots, three torches, and two minor glow-globes. Recently bought; tent, bedroll, compass and Book of Deception(read).

Feral serum: use unknown.

Ay’lin worked alongside her father, who was skilled in many things, until he disappeared one day with no explanation. Something that has haunted her every day. She lost her mother in childbirth, so for her father to leave her at such a young age was more than her heart could handle.

She learned things the hard way—on her own. Adaptive and canny, she expressed the true strengths of humanity in her ability to adjust quickly to circumstances, pick up new tricks to succeed, and ultimately survive when she probably should have been dead.

She grew up on her own, perhaps on the streets, in the wilderness, or amid ruins. The details don’t really matter. What’s important is that she taught herself how to overcome whatever challenges came along. Of course, with a little help from the tricks her father had given her.

She has got to where she is by observing, learning, adapting, and adopting. Constant wariness coupled (somewhat paradoxically) with constant curiosity allows her to hone her skills and new capabilities.
